Screw Rock 'n' Roll

Screw Rock 'n' Roll forms the juncture between Sub Pop and Swisha House. It's Seth Cohen on sizzurp. It's a semi-daily mp3 blog featuring rock n roll tracks screwed and chopped by Jonathan of The Saturday Club. All tracks are here for a limited time to promote the love of screw and the love of music. If you have any legal issues with your song being screwed, contact me and I'll take it down immediately.

Screw Podcasts 002: Like a white boy, I like hunting

I think I promised theme music last time. I now have theme music. Sort of.

You remember last time, right? I recorded a podcast, and promised I'd do more? Well, I always keep my promises, even if it takes me six months to do so. Here is Screw Rock 'n' Roll podcast #2, dedicated to a few tracks I've been enjoying over the opening months of 2008. I play them, I talk a bit, and I've even tried my hand at a few fancy production tricks. Apologies if some of it doesn't work out; I've only just started using Audacity, so I'm not quite proficient yet. If it worked out right, my ceaseless verbosity will come through crystal clear.

Screw Podcasts 002: Like a white boy, I like hunting

01. Killer Mike - Shot Down
02. Taylor Swift - Picture to Burn
03. The Kills - Tape Song
04. T2 ft. Jodie Aysha - Heartbroken
05. The-Dream - Ditch That...
06. Fleet Foxes - Sun Giant

And apart from making podcasts, I've spent my 2008 doing some writing. In particular, I covered the United States' Presidential Election for the Sydney Morning Herald (No really! That's my byline there and everything!)

I also reviewed German duo Sankt Otten's new album, Wunden Gibt Es Immer Wieder for Lost at Sea and I discussed Soulja Boy's "Crank Dat Soulja Boy" for the Village Voice's Pazz and Jop round up (scroll down). I also voted in Pazz and Jop (have I mentioned this?); my ballot can be seen here. And here's my not quite identical Idolator ballot.
